How is it possible that I'm taking Gus and Hugh to Lake Windward Elementary tomorrow to register Gus for preschool? Time goes by too quickly.

For those of you who aren't aware, he'll be going to school five days a week starting in August and will be going in the morning for special education preschool. He has an IEP for speech and language and we're praying that this is just what Gus needs to start talking and getting on track with his speech and language!!

He's 2.5! How Did That Happen??

Gus at 6 Months (November 11, 2010)

Gus at 18 Months (November 11, 2011)

Gus at 30 Months (November 11, 2012)

Our boy is two and a half today. How it all happened is beyond me, I mean, just yesterday he was a wee itsy bitsy baby and today he's six months away from being three!

I honestly can't think about him almost being three, because then I'll be really sad that he's growing too quickly. I wish I could stop time!!

Gus is just as delightful as ever. He is so fun to be around and has certain things that he does and says, that are his own special things. He's very opinionated and if something isn't how he wants it, he'll let you know it.

We start speech therapy tomorrow and I am so excited. Gus is making great strides naturally, but having the therapist come each week will only help more. He's getting better at repeating and getting the b sound. Tonight he said the word "baby" for the first time. This is monumental because baby is one of the first things that kids say, and yet he has gone two and a half years without saying it.

Gus loves to spin, jump, hop, gallop, leap, and jump off things. Tonight, while watching football, he was imitating the football players on tv. He'd crouch down like they were at the line, and as soon as they moved, he would jump up and run around the livingroom and kitchen like a crazy man. It was quite entertaining.

Another awesome thing that Gus did today involved lotion. He loves to have his feet lathered with lotion each night. Steve will do his feet and then give him a bit on his hands, and he enjoys rubbing his hands together and getting it on his hands. Well tonight, he went into our bedroom, grabbed some lotion, and came out and put lotion on Steve's feet. It was the cutest thing.

Gus loves his friends and loves babies. Anytime he sees a baby, he wants to help it. He likes to give it its paci and he's always concerned with making sure that it has a blanket on it. LOL. He's becoming more and more friendly and aware of his friends and their mamas. He eagerly interacts with Kathryn, Kirsten, Lesley, and the kiddos. It's neat to see.

We're going to Walt Disney World on Tuesday and we cannot wait to see Gus's reaction when he sees Mickey Mouse. It's going to be so special. We'll take a ton of pictures and share them on Facebook for sure!!

I'll keep everyone posted on how the speech therapy goes! Please keep us (and Gus) in your prayers!!

Fall Festivities!

Boo!!

We have been really enjoying our first October here in Georgia! We've been keeping busy all month by traveling to different places and have even celebrated Halloween twice already and it's not even the 31st yet!

Since there have been so many things that we've done, this post will contain many pictures and some descriptions of the fun things we've done this fall! Enjoy!!

On October 15th, we went to Kinsey Family Farm for the morning. They have a petting zoo, so we went and fed the cows, geese, goats, and then went on a hayride and stopped at their pond to feed some catfish and ducks. Gus did not enjoy the hayride and it caused many tears, but he calmed down when a friend offered him some Goldfish crackers. :-)

On October 18th, we went to the Roswell Halloween Fest. Gus has a few different costumes, but he chose to wear his UPS costume for this event. We had a great time as a family!

On Friday, October 19th, we headed back to Tanglewood Farm for their Octoberfest. We went this past spring and Gus really enjoyed the miniature animals, but this time he was very afraid. So instead of getting out and having fun with his friends, he stayed in the stroller. He was not having a good day.

Gus got a free pumpkin... not what I was thinking when they advertised "pick your own pumpkins"

Enjoying lunch at Bobby G's afterward

On Friday, October 26th, we had our MOMS Club Halloween party and potluck. Since Gus's other costume is fleece, we went with the UPS costume again (it was mid-70s and too warm for the other costume). He had fun and enjoyed "trick or treating" amongst the moms.

He freaked out when he saw the Hulk (his friend Logan)

Time to get some candy!

Nothing like black sprinkles on a pretzel to stain your face and tongue!!

Yesterday, we went to get donuts and then went to Scottsdale Farms to pick a pumpkin to be carved. We had a great morning out as a family!

That brings us to today! We had hoped to carve a pumpkin together, but Gus decided he wanted to nap instead. So here's my pumpkin:

Happy Halloween!!!
