Happy at Fourteen Months!

I am fourteen weeks old today! Mom says that you can also say I'm three months and a week old. :)

I've been really chatty lately!!

This week has been great! Just yesterday I rolled over for my mom several times. If you remember, way back in June I rolled over for the very first time, but I decided that I only wanted to do it one day. I didn't do it again, so mom doesn't really consider that me reaching this milestone. So, yesterday she asked me if I wanted to try again and I did!

Mom can't believe how big I'm getting!! It makes her sad. Daddy went upstairs to my room and cleaned out a bunch of clothes that he thinks I'm too big to wear anymore. While he's probably right, mom got sad that some of her favorites are too small for me. :(
I can still fit into my monkey shirt that mom loves so much though!!  :)

Last Thursday I went with mom to my first baby play date! Some of the teachers that mom worked with this last year at Oak Grove have babies, and they had a gathering for the babies. Her school mascot was the otter, so the event was called the "Gathering of Baby Otters." I met Eloise Alexander, and she's ten weeks old. I also met Ethan Mendzef and he's eight-weeks old. Then I met Olivia Newell, and she is six-weeks old. We were all about two weeks apart in age! I think my mom liked seeing her old co-workers too... even if they did talk about teaching stuff.  ;)

Today mom and I went to our second MOMS Club gathering- this one was lunch at Moe's in Fuquay-Varina. It was fun and my mom "officially" joined, which means that we'll get a calendar of events and she'll be able to contact some of the other moms. She'll also get a play group that we can join!

What can I say? I was tired!

This week the longest that I slept was ten and a half hours! Mom and dad are so happy that I'm such a great sleeper!

Mom ordered my next carseat this week! It's a Graco 3-in-1 convertable carseat and it'll be one that I'll use from the time that I turn one, all the way until I'm 100 pounds! It is a forward-facing seat for 20 pounds-65 pounds, and then there's a high-back booster for 30-100 pounds, and then a regular booster for 40-100 pounds. All three are one carseat so it'll save money in the long-run too. I like that there's a cup holder. :)

Another great thing that I've done this week was that I've started to reach at the toys that dangle on my new rock-n-bounce seat that mom and dad bought me. I also bat at the toys that hang on my carseat. Mom told dad that it's a big deal that I'm able to hit these things, because it means that I'm starting to figure out that when I hit something, there's a reaction. Mom said it's all part of me figuring that my hands belong to me! I hope within the next week or two I figure out that they belong to me, so mom and dad can stop swaddling me! Boy do I hate that swaddle!! :)

I'm hoping that Gram and Pap are able to come to North Carolina over Labor Day weekend to visit me! They won't believe how big I am! It's been a LONG time since I last saw them... if they're able to come for the holiday, it'll have been almost two months since I last saw them.  :(

Lastly, my mom is going to buy me a Beaba Babycook food maker thingy. She's excited to get it because it's on sale right now, and Beth from daddy's work gave us a very nice gift of money, so they are going to use that money to buy me the Beaba. Mom is excited because it's a cook gadget that cooks, purees, defrosts, and reheats babyfood! Mom can get veggies and fruit from the farmer's market or from Papa Spuds, and then use them to make me some organic, fresh babyfood! Obviously I won't be eating solid food until I'm six-months old, but she wanted to buy it now while it's on sale, and so she has time to really figure it out. I can start eating cereal next month, but mom wants to wait as long as she can for me to start eating anything more than formula. I'm on the added rice starch formula right now, so that's more than enough for now!

Anyway... time for a nap! I'll write again next week!
