Me at 47 Weeks Old
It's been a crazy week! I've got so much to share with you!! Here's a run-down of my week picking up from last Tuesday...
Mom found out that my picture was posted on the EMU Alumni page! She took a screen shot and saved it so we'll always have it!
Wednesday was the 30th. We didn't do anything or go anywhere. Mom came in to get me in the morning and I had taken off my pants! I didn't take off my diaper (I would have if she had only waited a few more minutes)... I was so proud of myself! Here are the pictures that mom took of me throughout the day on Wednesday:
Thursday was the 31st and the last day of March. We went to a breakfast playdate for Triangle Mommies and we had fun. My two good friends Grace and Oliver were there, and mom got to see some of her TM friends. I had a great time, except this older boy didn't appreciate me trying to play with the toy that he had, and he pushed me REALLY hard and I fell and hit him head. Mom was really mad because his mom wasn't even watching and didn't say or do anything. After that, mom decided that it was time to get me home so I could nap.
I'd like to tell you about my favorite thing to watch on television. It's actually the ONLY thing that I'm allowed to watch, but I love it, so it works out well. I love the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse! I can just hear the jingle and I'll stop everything that I'm doing and walk over to the tv to watch. It's the best thing ever and I love that Mickey Mouse too!!
That night, daddy picked me up and put me on his shoulders. It was the best thing ever and I love it so much when he does it!!
On Friday, it was April Fools Day. Mom doesn't like April Fools Day at all and hates it when she gets pranked. She thought she was in the clear until Wendy pranked her by saying that they were moving to Georgia. I can't wait until I'm older and I can think of some good pranks for mom. :)
I ate an ENTIRE container of yogurt on Friday!! Mom was so proud... I was just hungry!
Daddy got home on Friday and we went to the barber shop that he goes to for my very first haircut! I wasn't sure what to expect, and for the most part I was okay, but the buzzing noise of the shavers scared me a bit. I was a brave boy though, and at the end I got my very first sucker! It was very sweet and ran all down my face. When we got home, daddy put me on his shoulders and I laughed and laughed!! It was a fabulous day!!
So my Gram and Pap think I am too little/young to have my hair cut, but they don't see how cute I am with short hair! Mom said that I will NEVER have long hair. Dad said he'll bet that I do at some point... afterall, he did have a mullet when he was growing up and has a certain fondness when it comes to long hair. :)
We spent Saturday hanging out and I was playing in the livingroom. I noticed the sun was on the carpet and I tried with all my might to catch it, but I couldn't grab it.
The Detroit Tigers played the NY Yankees (mom HATES the Yankees) and I got to wear my Tigers outfit that mom's friend Shannon gave me back in June of last year. I was too little to wear it then, but it fit great today!
Mom says that next year when we go back to MI in May/June for my 2nd birthday, we'll go to a Tigers game!!! She's a HUGE Tigers fan. I think it's because she grew up in the Detroit area and has always loved them. I can't wait to go to my first game, it'll be so special!! Maybe we'll see if my birth mom's family and birth dad's family will want to go too and we can make it a tradition!
Saturday night we went to Auntie Jen's birthday party at a bowling alley. I love her and was so excited to give her my gift... it was a picture frame with three pictures of us together. She really liked it.
While we were there, dad took a picture of the three of us. Mom said that it's her absolute favorite picture of the three of us (besides the very first one on May 12, 2010).
We spent Sunday doing nothing. It was nice to play and just enjoy the time together as a family. It was a beautiful day, so dad opened all the windows and I went out on the porch to play. Purry liked it too.
I ate another WHOLE container of yogurt today and mom was really proud of me again. I also got to play with my frog sippy cup and I enjoyed it!
Yesterday was Monday and it was a great day! I had another playdate with babies that will go to kindergarten in 2015 (the same year that I'll go). There were four of us all together and I had so much fun playing with everyone!
Mom's friend Katie was there (she's a really good photographer) and she was showing mom how to take pictures using the manual settings. Mom said it was really hard, but she'll practice. Katie took these two amazing pictures of me with her camera:
I was so tired after playing hard all morning that I took a three hour nap! Mom couldn't believe that I slept for so long, but I was just really tired. When I woke up, my head was really stuffy and I sounded like I was getting sick. :(
I didn't nap again... and mom is worried that I'll start doing one long nap during the day. She's not sure if that's normal or not... I told her that I don't know either, I just know that when I'm tired, I go to sleep.
We got up and I played in my room while mom organized my dresser and clothes.
In other news, mom got a call last week from our attorney in Michigan and we have a date for my finalization!!! The good news is that it's April 15th and the bad news is that we have to be there in person, which isn't really bad, but mom and dad weren't expecting to take a trip north until May/June. So... we'll be in MI on the 14th, 15th, 16th, and coming home on the 17th. Daddy has a trip to California on the 19th so we have to be back for him to go to work on Monday. I'm excited to go to court and have my adoption be finalized. This means that I'm officially a Walker and my birth certificate will have mom and dad's names on it, and all the paperwork and everything for my adoption will be over!!!
I'm really excited to meet my Great Grandma. She's my birth mom's grandma. My birth mom and her mom will be going with us to the courthouse, along with Gram and maybe Pap. It'll be wonderful. Then we're going to lunch to celebrate and I'll meet my Great Grandma. Then Friday night, we'll be going to dinner with a bunch of people from mom and dad's family to celebrate.
We won't be able to come back to Michigan until July now... but I'm still excited!!!
