Me at 15 Months Old!!

Whoo hoo!! I'm getting so big and I'm becoming such a little man! I absolutely love to laugh, and when I find something funny, I laugh with a big appreciative laugh! I also like to giggle when I think something is funny.

I have two teeth on the bottom and two on top. That's all that's in my mouth right now.

I've learned how to dip various foods in various sauces and I enjoy the act of dipping. I also like to dip even if there's nothing to dip into! A new thing that I just started today is to make a mmmmmmm sound when I eat something. Mom does it when she feeds me, and when she likes something that she's eating, so I do it too. :)

Here's what the Great Beginnings website says about my 15th month:

How I Grow:
  • I like to climb on things and I usually like to do it alone.
  • I can climb upstairs on my hands and knees.
  • I can climb on chairs, sofas, and tables.
  • I can climb out of cribs, high chairs, and strollers.
  • I'm always on the go; I can walk pretty well; I can run a little.
How I Talk:
  • I can say three or four simple words besides "mam" and "dada".
  • When you ask me to, I can point to my shoes or parts of my clothing.
  • I can let you know what I want by the way I talk or point.
  • I can follow simple requests like "Give me the ball."
  • I can point to pictures you name, if the things in the pictures are familiar to me.
What I Have Learned:
  • I like to feel different kinds of things-smooth things, rough things, soft things. I like soft things and smooth things, but I may not like things that stick to my fingers.
  • I can throw a small ball, but I usually throw it crooked.
How I Get Along With Others:
  • I mostly like my own way; I don;t cooperate much.
  • I like lots of attention.
  • I am easily entertained.
  • I can tell when someone I know is absent.
  • I can recognize myself in a mirror or photograph.
What I Can Do For Myself:
  • I like to do things for myself but I don't do them very well.
 Play I Enjoy:
  • I like to turn switches on and off..
  • I like to throw things, push things and pound on things.
  • I like to spin wheels.
  • I like playing with spoons, cups, and boxes.

Then... in the What to Expect the Second Year book, here's what it says will be happening from now until September 11th:

Most toddlers will probably be able to...
  • Climb (on things, out of the stroller, and so on)
  • Walk well
  • Imitate activities
  • Scribble
  • Turn pages in a book
  • Carry objects in each hand
  • Understand simple directions ("no," "look," "come," "please give me...")
Half of all toddlers will be able to...
  • Stack three blocks
  • Imitate with an object (use a phone to "talk," or a broom to "sweep")
  • Use a fork or a spoon
  • Throw a ball
  • Say three words
  • Recognize self in mirror or picture
Some toddlers may be able to...
  • Run
  • Walk backward
  • Dance to music
  • Say six words
A few toddlers may be able to...
  • Kick a ball forward
  • Brush teeth (with help)
  • Take off one piece of clothing without help
  • Say fifteen words or more
Should be a great month full of new things!! A lot of the things on the list I can already do... so I'm ahead of the game!! Lately, my favorite thing to say is, "mama" over and over and over. It makes mama very happy.  :)

I love to dance. In fact, I can be focused on something and then the minute I hear music, I stop what I'm doing and start tapping my foot and bobbing my head... I also clap. Mom and dad think it's the cutest thing ever. They say I get my musical abilities from my birth mom (she was in the band)... and her side of my biological family.

Here are some pictures of me taken today:

Thanks for reading!!
:)
