19 Months Old (December 11th, 2011)

Gus turned 19 months on Sunday! We were in the middle of unpacking and I couldn't find the Picky Stickys and then when I finally did find them, it was too late to take pictures. Then I lost track of things on Monday and didn't get around to taking his 19 month pictures until Tuesday. Better late than never!!

This last month has proved to be the most challenging yet. Gus is testing limits, throwing tantrums, and so up and down with his emotions. His language hasn't "exploded" as I was hoping it would, but he's well on his way. He loves to dance, loves to sing, and is very affectionate (when he wants to be). He will give hugs and when he gives kisses, he holds your face in his hands- it's seriously the cutest thing in the world.

Gus likes to pet the cats and snuggle with his dog (Elphie). He also loves his daddy but is starting to come back to allowing mama to do things for/with him when daddy is around. He's trying so hard to jump and managed to do it once, but hasn't done it since. Now that we've got a trampoline, hopefully it'll aid with his ability to jump!

Reading is fun for Gus, but only for a few minutes and then he either wants a new book, or is done completely. He loves to build with his Duplos and Mega Blocks, but will only play for a bit before moving on to something else. He will play longer if someone plays with him.

He has almost all of his teeth on the top (missing two) and then just the two in the front on the bottom. He's constantly chewing on things and has something in his mouth at all times. Even with the pain of teething, he's jovial 90% of the time. He's gotten pickier with food lately, but it's normal. He also has transitioned to one nap a day. He usually goes down at 12:30/1:00 and can go anywhere from an hour and a half, to four hours. :-)
