Week 16 (August 31st, 2010)

Me at 16 Weeks!

What a great week! I am just really starting to grow and develop! This week my favorite thing to do is use my voice and really let others know I mean business! I figured out that I can get REALLY loud and mom or dad will react by either talking back to me or by coming and picking me up and loving on me! :)

I slept for more than 11 hours twice this week and each night I slept for at least 10 hours. My mom has come down with a cold so it's been good for her to get some extra rest.

I've also been trying to use my hands to hold my bottle. Mom has to help because I don't quite get it yet, but I'm sure trying! Mom says it won't be long before I'll figure it out and she can just hand me a bottle and I'll hold it on my own.

On Sunday I tried rice cereal with my bottle and I liked it! I only get it once a day, but I like it. I am already on formula with R.S. (rice starch), so the actual rice cereal isn't too different from what I'm already getting.

My Gram and Pap are supposed to come for a visit this weekend and I REALLY hope Pap can get the time off of work. I think mom misses them too and I really want to go back to the Atlantic Ocean! When they come we're going to take a day trip to the beach and have dinner at The Oceanic again. Hurricane Earl is expected to hit the coast this weekend... so that might put a damper on our beach plans, but we'll see.

Mom has a lunch date with one of her good friends that she used to work with at Oak Grove tomorrow. I can't wait to meet Azizi because my mom tells me that she's funny and wonderful! Then on Thursday we're going to another friend of mom's named Katie (she also worked with her at Oak Grove) for a play date with her daughter Emma (nine months) and so she can help mom with photography stuff! Mom thinks that I'm a great subject, and Katie is really good at taking pictures.

Anyway, it's been a wonderful week and mom has posted some videos on the You Tube site. You can access them by clicking the Videos link on the top of this blog. I was on the floor with daddy and Elphie and daddy was tickling me... so mom got me laughing on the camera. Then this morning, mom put me on the frog rug in my nursery and Ned decided to lay down with me-- it's a super cute video too!

Have a great week! I'll post again on Tuesday! August has been a great month and I can't wait to see what fun September brings!! A week from Saturday I'll be four months old!! Can you believe it???? Mom says that I need to stay tiny and little for as long as I can because she loves me being so tiny and sweet!!!
