Me at 25 Weeks!

What a week! On Tuesday night (10-26-10) we had our first post-placement visit for the adoption! It was very easy and nothing that mom and dad couldn't answer about me. They liked being able to introduce me to Walt and to talk and talk and talk about their favorite subject... ME!!

This last week was full of some new things for our family! Earlier last week, Hobo (our foster kitty) was fortunate enough to get to go home with his family, and while mom and dad were happy he got to go home so soon, it was sad to say goodbye. Toebe was especially sad because he and Hobo had become fast friends! So, mom told dad that she thought it'd be a good idea to get a kitty for Toebe. The SPCA of Wake County had an amazing deal where all kitty adoptions were only $20!!! So on Wednesday night, after daddy got home from work, we all drove to the SPCA to see a kitty named Quincy.

Quincy is a Maine Coon cat and only a year old. We got to the shelter at 5:35 and unfortunately, they stop doing adoptions at 5:30 so we weren't able to adopt him that night. So, because they were closed on Thursdays, we decided to go back on Friday and get him.

WELL... on Thursday we had lunch with daddy and while we were sitting there, mom told dad that she kinda liked another kitty that was there too. This one was named Perry Como and was recently rescued from a lab. His ears are tattooed and he was in the "fat-cat room" and is five years old (or so). Daddy said that he couldn't stop thinking about Perry Como too, and they decided to adopt TWO kitties!!

Purry Como

Bing Clawsby

So mom and I went on Friday to see the two kitties and we the SPCA was excited that not only was Quincy (renamed Bing Clawsby) going to be going home, but so was Perry Como (renamed Purry Como). Purry is the sweetest kitty... he has a LOUD purr that sounds like he's singing! Bing is tiny and very cute! He was shy though and mom couldn't find him when we got home! He was hiding behind the washer/dryer!

On Saturday morning, mom got up and felt really sick. She ended up getting violently ill and has been sick ever since! We had a lunch date with a some friends that mom met that are looking to adopt a baby, and while we were meeting them, mom got sick at the restaurant!

Sunday was a better day for mom, but she was still sick on Halloween. Mom took some pictures of me and daddy, since he went at Burt and I was "Burt's bee." Here are the pictures from my very first Halloween!

This week I have been trying really hard to sit up on my own! I'm almost there! I still haven't rolled over from my back to my belly, but mom's still not worried. She says it's better that I can't roll yet because once I do, I'll be rolling everywhere!!

I've been really cranky today though... I have two tiny teeth that look like they're about to poke through. It's been making me very sad and I've been crying and drooling a lot all day.  Mom thinks I'll have my first teeth by my six-month birthday (November 11th).

Today I went with mom to have lunch with Kim Bailey and it was fun and then we went to the fire station and I got to watch mom vote! There were A LOT of people there and we had to park really far away!

Daddy is in Atlanta for their Dumpster Dive and won't be home until Thursday. I miss him already.

Here's to another wonderful week!
:)

So sorry that you felt so sickly Saturday, but we sure were so happy to meet all of you! Thanks for all of the information you shared, the books you brought, and taking the time to come and visit. We MUST do it again when you're feeling better!

So in love with Gus as "Burt's Bee!" How perfectly adorable! Will said: "Are we going to be as cool as they are when we're parents?" I told him I hoped so!

Oh my gosh, you made an amazing bee! And your daddy really does look like Burt in a spaghetti western! How much candy did you guys get. Make sure if you got alot that you make your daddy eat it because candy is not good for bees yet. Pap and I are coming on the 14th to see you and you mom and dad so make sure you tell them they have to be well while we are there. I am very excited to meet your new kittys because you have described them very well and they seem interesting. Thank you for your information each month, it helps me miss you just a little less. Much love to my little Gus Bee. Gram
