11 Months!! (April 11th, 2011)

 

Me at 11 Months!

Can you believe that I am now 11 months old? The last four months have just gone by so very quickly! It's like I hit seven months and everything sped forward at super-speed! Of course there were a lot of pictures taken today... would you like to see them?

This month has been full of so much newness for me! Here are a few of the milestones that I reached this month (March 11-April 11):

• I started walking!! That's probably the biggest thing this month! I started walking on March 16th
• I started waving (thought I don't really know what I'm doing)
• I tried eggs for the first time and didn't have a reaction
• I went to the NC Zoo for the first time (with Wendy and the girls on March 17th)
• I am able to stand, bend over and pick up an object without falling over
• I am able to stand up on my own (another big one)!!
• I got my first haircut (April 1st)
• I can point to your nose if you ask me to (whoo hoo)!!

Here are the things that I may be able to do by the time I turn one (only one month away)!!!

• Say mama and dada and know who I am talking about
• Say one additional word besides mama or dada
• Play ball

Some things that mom is going to work with me on this month include:

• Continuing to label everything in my world- naming everything so that I'll continue to learn
• Continue to listen when I talk. Mom knows that my gibberish has meaning to me, so when I am able to connect my talking to what she can understand, we'll be able to communicate even more!
• Concepts like hot and cold, in and out, up and down, empty and full, stand and sit, wet and dry, and big and little. 
• We'll also work on cause and effect, colors, body parts, pronouns, and translating adult phrases into baby phrases
• We'll also keep working on baby sign!
• Lastly, we'll keep reading together and mom is going to read me more of the picture books that I have and not just board books for me to eat.  :)

Tonight I had my very first ice cream cone. Daddy had one and ate it and then he gave one to mom and she didn't want it (weird-o) so he fed it to me instead. I loved it!!

Okay-- mom will be on tomorrow to blog more with her weekly updates. The next monthly update will be for my first birthday! YIKES!!!!
