Gus's Grandiose Gabble: Week 55 (May 31st, 2011)

What a great week! I got to see my God Mother Jessica, and celebrated my first Memorial Day with my mom and dad together (last year daddy was here in NC while mom and I were in MI). I also started to eat with a fork all by myself!! Here's a recap of the week:

May 25th

Mom and I woke up and then had breakfast before we headed to Honeycutt Park. Mom wasn't going to go, but I didn't sleep well Tuesday night into Wednesday, and I was rather cranky. Mom thought I needed a change of scenery.

We left the park and headed home, and I took a nap. After I got up, mom and I had lunch and she showed me how to eat with a fork again. This time I tried it by myself and I did it! I actually fed myself without any help! Mom took a video (it's posted on my blog) so everyone could see me!!

After lunch, mom and I went outside so I could swim in my pool. I love playing at my water table and swimming!!

After being outside in the sun for almost an hour, I was ready to come inside and play. I love my green froggy blanket and I enjoy putting it on my head, dragging it behind me, and wrapping myself up in it!

May 26th

Mom and I went grocery shopping on Thursday and we also played outside in my pool.

May 27th

Mom and I got up and had breakfast and then I played for a bit before my nap.

Mom woke me up early from my nap so that we could drive to the airport to pick up my God Mother Jessica! She came in from MI and I was super excited to see her!!

We spent the afternoon playing and then we went to Mamma Mia's for dinner and I had ravioli and I almost ate all of it!! After dinner we went to Rita's and daddy and I shared some custard with Italian ice.

May 28th

We got up and had breakfast- mom and Jessica made the ham and cheese hashbrown casserole Friday night and daddy put it in the oven Saturday morning. It was absolutely delicious and I ate a whole bunch!!

We had to drive Jessica to the mall to meet her friends that she was going to stay with for the rest of her trip. We said our goodbyes and then we came back home and I took a long nap (so did mom). When I got up, daddy fed me lunch and he let me drink water from his cup.

At 5:00 we went to our neighborhood playground and met Katie for some pictures. She took a bunch fo me and then daddy took some with his phone.

After pictures we went to Chick-Fil-A and grabbed some dinner and came back home to eat it. I ate a bunch of chicken and a lot of fruit-- but I still don't like strawberries.

May 29th

On Sunday, daddy made it so that his laptop is in my room and the webcam is focused on my crib and mom and dad can now see me when I'm in my room!

Mom told me that she could watch me forever... <3

After my nap and lunch, we went outside to swim and play.

At dinner, I decided that I wanted to get out of my high-chair... mom took pictures of it, but daddy was not happy with me and he told me to sit down over and over. Finally he took me out of my chair and put me in the livingroom while he and mom finished eating.

May 30th- MEMORIAL DAY

I got up with mom and had slept until after 8am! I was in a great mood and I went downstairs and had breakfast with mom and dad. Mom made scrambled eggs and toast and daddy made the bacon. I didn't get any bacon, but it sure smelled good!

After breakfast I played and then in the afternoon we went outside and I played in my pool.

When I was done playing, I came inside and then daddy changed me and I played in the livingroom for a while. Mom took some pictures of me.

May 31st

That brings us to today! I decided to sleep in this morning and didn't get up until almost 8:30!! I've been taking one nap a day and if it's not long enough, I end up sleeping over 12 hours at night. Mom isn't complaining about that!!

We had breakfast this morning and I had a cereal bar and some yogurt. Mom gave me some apple juice with water in my Mickey topper. I love it.

Then Wendy and the girls came over and we packed up the car and mom drove to Sunni Skys in Angier for some homemade ice cream. It was supposed to be a MOMS Club event, but the calendar said 10am and Wendy checked the website and they didn't open until 11. We got there just after 11 and we were the only ones from the MOMS Club that came. Oh well... their loss!! Mom had Dirt Cake ice cream (chocolate pudding ice cream and Oreos) and I had some plain chocolate. I loved it!
